mCherry-cy5 mRNA emits bright far-red fluorescence with maximum excitation at ~651 nm and emission at ~670 nm. It also enables the expression of a red fluorescent protein mCherry in cells, organoids, or in vivo, with maximum excitation at ~587 nm and emission at ~610 nm. The Cy5 fluorescence can be utilized to track and localize the mRNA, while the detection of mCherry fluorescence serves to validate mRNA translation efficiency.
